Magazine Cover

Magazine Cover

Most people (including myself) would be afraid to cover up the face of their subject, but I think it creates a really neat mysterious, trendy, cool atmosphere. The way the image is split into two is a really unique idea as well.

I am a fan of big images, so naturally this one caught my eye. The telephone wires to a great job of leading your eye from the left page to the right.
Also I love the pull quote at the top of the left page and how it is presented.

These illustrations were made from colored pencils and watercolor. Absolutely gorgeous!

Magazine Spread

Magazine Spread

This spread is brilliant. I love the color combinations and how a huge block of orange is placed over the picture but is transparent, emphasizing the orange of her towel and creating an interesting element.
Also love how “airy” the whole spread is. Small text set apart from each other with minimal information. Very pleasing to the eye!

Manipulation

Manipulation

Here is another example of a photo manipulation. Simple, yet stunning. There is a quiet serenity about it.
Sidenote – it would also make a badass tattoo!

Business Card

Business Card

A ridiculously sweet business card that I ran across. Actually used it for inspiration to create my own. Love the simplicity of the color scheme and how the image blends into the grungy brush strokes. Just love 🙂

There is a ton of information on this page, but I think it was organized quite successfully. Also, there is a fun flow to it with with the green smoke that engages the reader really well.

Big Images

Big Images

I am a sucker for anything that has huge images! Also, love the black and white scheme with the pop of transparent red!

Color Scheme

Color Scheme

A lot of times when I am working on a project I will stick with colors that are close to each other. I love how this little bit of red was thrown in there and completely threw off the blues and the beiges (in a good way of course!) I need to be more brave like this!
